With this yarn we want you to have a feel of the beautiful landscapes of the Faroe Islands. Here, the sheep are allowed to freely roam the endless green pastures. It is from these sheep that Hobbii sources the wool thanks to a family business based on these islands.

It is a 100% brushed bulky wool yarn with a rustic feel to it. Arctica comes in 25 g skeins and it is spun from 3 threads. Arctica 25 g is the smaller version of our regular Arctica yarn. This wool will keep you warm during the coldest winter weather and still contains some of its lanolin. The lanolin will help the wool stay dry as it is water repellent. Therefore, it will be a great option for outerwear such as jackets, but also for sweaters, cardigans and pullovers. We think it will look amazing if used for a fair-isle type of project.

The size of this yarn makes it perfect for testing the yarn, for smaller projects, and for finishing touches.

The wide color palette allows plenty of possibilities when choosing the yarn for your next creation. The darker colors might bleed a bit hence, we always recommend you make a swatch before starting your project and wash it according to the washing instructions.

If you have very sensitive skin, we do not recommend wearing it in direct contact with your skin. Kindly note that due to its natural fibers, the yarn might show slight variations in thickness between the natural and the dyed colors.

We look forward to you getting warm and cozy with this lovely yarn.

Arctica can be machine felted at 40°C (104°F) with an approximate 35% shrinkage (gauge after wash: 12 m x 24 r).

I love this wool yarn and since I earned 3 skeins @25 oz. each in an Evergreen color, I am going to knit a pair of mittens. Yes, wool is itchy but not on my hands and believe me when I say that mittens from acrylic do not keep my fingers warm when shoveling snow! P. S. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this online store. My orders arrive faster than stores here in the U.S.

I love this yarn, and am sorry I don't have more of it after using my points to buy as many mini skeins as possible. It is rougher but I am mot super sensitive to rough wool and I love how it looks, expect it will keep me warm.

Amy

Found this easy to work with for my project. I make a tiny amigurumi bird, then brushed it. Will be getting more with my points to make more animals

Caitlin

Love this yarn. I used colour 22 to replicate grass on a sweater. It is a great match to the colour online.

Britta

Yes it is a little prickly, but love the colours. Unfortunately I didn't get enough for the sweater I am making even though I followed the pattern so am trying to collect more of the wool with my points. Am sad that they have discontinued the 50g.
